Ulrich Schnauss ist Musiker und gleichsam bekannter Musikproduzent. Seine einnehmende und fesselnde Musik liegt zwischen Ambient, Electronica, Shoegazing und Indietronic. Er veröffentlicht seit über 20 Jahren seine Produktionen und sieht seine Musik gleichsam als Ausstieg aus der Realität und der Sinnhaftigkeit einer Rückkehr in diese. Seine Konzerte werden von beeindruckenden Visuals begleitet. Das Magazin POP Matters bezeichnet seine Musik als „einen Schritt nach vorn für die elektronische Musik“. Er ist ebenfalls bekannt geworden durch seine hoch gelobten Remixe einiger der bekanntesten Künstler der Gegenwart wie „Depeche Mode“, „Sia“, „Pet Shop Boys“, „Coldplay“ und „Mojave 3“, um nur einige zu nennen. Seit 2014 ist Ulrich Schnauss Mitglied bei „Tangerine Dream“.

(Text WIKIPEDIA) Schnauss, der in Kiel geboren und aufgewachsen war, zog im Jahr 1996 nach Berlin um. Dort veröffentlichte er unter Pseudonymen wie View to the Future und Ethereal 77 verschiedene Musikstücke von Ambient über Drum and Bass bis Elektronik. Schnauss produzierte einige Veröffentlichungen von Frank Müllers Projekt Beroshima und weitere Veröffentlichungen auf dessen Label Müller Records.

Unter dem Pseudonym Ethereal 77 veröffentlichte Schnauss 1999 das Album Landscapes. 2001 erschien auf dem Electronica-Label City Centre Offices das erste unter seinem Namen veröffentlichte, vielbeachtete Debütalbum Far Away Trains Passing By. 2003 folgte sein zweites Album A Strangely Isolated Place, welches an den Erfolg des vorherigen anknüpfen konnte.

2005 erschien das Playstation-2-Spiel Gran Turismo 4, welches seinen Titel "A Million Miles Away" als Soundtrack beinhaltet. Dieser Titel konnte damals auf Ulrich Schnauss' Homepage frei heruntergeladen werden. Ein Teil des Stückes "On my own", welches auf dem Album A Strangely Isolated Place erschienen ist, ist in einer Folge ("Under The Influence") der populären Fernsehserie CSI: Miami zu hören. Der Titel "Passing By" untermalt eine Szene des Films Elizabethtown mit Kirsten Dunst und Orlando Bloom. Sein drittes Album mit dem Namen Goodbye erschien im Juni 2007.

2012 folgte nach einer Zusammenarbeit mit Mark Peters sein erstes Soloalbum seit fünf Jahren: A Long Way To Fall, welches Schnauss auf seinem eigenen Label Scripted Realities veröffentlichte.

Seit 2014 ist Schnauss Mitglied der deutschen Elektronikgruppe Tangerine Dream.

Ulrich Schnauss will perform live at the 2016 Edition of the Electronic Circus Festival on 01.10.2016 at the Sommertheater in Detmold, Germany!

The Visuals will be performed by Nat Urazmetova.

At once uplifting and otherworldly, the music of Ulrich Schnauss combines multi-layered synthesizers with beats and ethereal vocals, serving as an aural escape route from the trappings of reality. As Schnauss explains, ‘I’ve always used making and listening to music as a way to escape – putting on headphones is a great way to leave reality behind for a while, reminding yourself why it still makes sense to carry on.’

Ulrich has released since 1995 several critically high acclaimed releases as a Solo Artist or as part of different Collaborations. Since 2014 Ulrich is a member of Tangerine Dream.

Ulrich is also well known for remixing some of the finest artists of the present times including Depeche Mode, Sia, Pet Shop Boys, Coldplay, Mojave 3, etc.

Ulrich will be joined on stage by visual artist Nat Urazmetova. Nat has been working with Ulrich for the past few years, adding a powerful special dimension to his live performances.

The Detmolder Sommertheater with its brilliant acoustics, wide stage and warm atmosphere will be the perfect place to host the show of these two outstanding artists.
