Der dritte Live Act wird Wolfram Spyra sein. Spyra hat bereits 2008 und 2010 bei uns gespielt, allerdings waren es jeweils eher kürzere Sets. Sein neues Programm heisst "From Classic to Classical" und verspricht allerhöchste Qualität. Spyra wird auf der Bühne von dem bekannten Cellisten Thilo Thomas Krigar und der ukrainischen Künstlerin und Musikerin Roksana Vikaluk begleitet. Wir versprechen ein außergewöhnliches Spektakel. Ferner wird Udo P. Leis seine Drehfächer-Kunst live auf der Bühne präsentieren.

The german artist SPYRA will be the third act performing at the 2015 Edition of the Electronic Circus Festival on 03.10.2015 at the new Festival home the Sommertheater in Detmold. He will be accompanied on stage by the Cellist Thilo Krigar and the Ukrainian artist Roksana Vikaluk on piano.. The program is "from classic to classical". Udo P. Leis will perform his well known "Paperwindtrancers" Show live on stage.

Wolfram Spyra' is a composer of electronic music, sound artist and inventor born in Eschwege in Germany. Sound is his art form. He has worked for film, television, theatre, dance and as sound designer.

He began his career in the early 1990s constructing 'soundscapes' and installations around Germany. He has collaborated with a wide range of visual artists, musicians, producers and DJs. He has released several albums, starting in 1995 with Homelistening Is Killing Clubs.

Spyra's focus is on electronic music, seamlessly blending interesting samples, synthesizers, percussion and other elements together in unique ways. While sometimes experimental, most of his music has a certain accessibility in terms of the rhythmic and melodic components. Though frequently associated with the retro or Berlin School sound pioneered by Klaus Schulze and others, he uses modern ambient electronica elements extensively, creating his own rich sound that defies easy categorization.
His annotation of ' post-electronic ', is a well tempered mix of krautrock infused sequences - accompanied by modern melody structures of neo-classic. The latest release ‘Staub’ is not a memory of what Spyra has accomplished in the past, it is presenting a modern way of live electronic elements with modern rhythms, his indeterminate future. Spyra is reinventing himself with his latest release and currently, there are almost no notable German producers creating such brilliantly odd pieces of music.

Thilo Thomas Krigar studied music at the University of the Arts with a major in cello and musicology at the TU Berlin with Prof. Carl Dahlhaus. Krigar founded in 1989 the ensemble of soloists Pythagoras Strings Berlin, with whom he has performed since then internationally.

Since 1975, Krigar was composing and intensively studied literary subjects apart, creating settings of literature and music theater, where actors like Otto Sander, Marianne Hoppe, Christian Brückner, Ursela Monn, Iris Berben and Angela Winkler occurred.
Since 2000 he has realized in collaboration with leading scientists an audio-visual work of art "DNA in Concert, the flow of genetic information”. THE NEW YORK TIMES called him in two reviews as "excellent instrumentalist" and "compelling artist".

At the Electronic Circus Festival Spyra will present a new programme which will span a range from his classic tracks up to neo classical tracks. He will be accompanied on cello by Thilo Krigar.

This will be a real highlight in the history of the Electronic Circus Festival and will fit perfectly in the new surrounding of the Sommertheater Detmold which has a tradition in classical music and lays next to the “Hochschule für Musik Detmold” which is one of the leading institutions for professional music education.

Udo P. Leis

Der Kasseler Künstler Udo P. Leis wird am 3. Oktober 2015 bei uns zur Musik von Spyra seinen Drehfächer-Tanz aufführen. Udo P. Leis ist seit Jahren bekannt für sein innovatives und kreatives künstlerisches Schaffen. Fragiles, verwischtes, schweres Material, Wiederentdecktes, scheinbar Entsorgtes, Ausrangiertes - all die Dinge, die Menschen zwar sehen, aber nicht wahrnehmen, erkennt Leis in seiner Einzigartigkeit und Schönheit des Alltäglichen. Für ihn gilt es, diese Variablen zu erkennen und die Möglichkeiten, die in den Dingen liegen, auszuschöpfen. Fächer- und gattungsübergreifend erfahren verworfene Kirchenglocken, ausrangierte Glasbläserformen, nicht mehr nutzbare Sägeblätter oder verlassene Radarstationen eine Metamorphose. Ob Klangteppiche, Installationen, Menschen in ihrer Kreativität weltweit verbindend oder in Öl auf Eisen – die Möglichkeiten des Schauens sind unerschöpflich. Für den Moment, den Augenblick, dem Wechsel der Jahreszeiten und der Witterung unterworfen oder für die Ewigkeit – historische Schichten verschieben sich, bilden Schnittflächen mit der Gegenwart und machen das Augenscheinliche so offensichtlich sichtbar. Sein Wirken ist in zahlreichen Artikeln und Berichten nachzulesen, z.B. hier über das Schloss Loshausen.

Bei uns wird Udo seinen Drehfächer-Tanz aufführen (Paperwindtrancers). Wir versprechen eine außergewöhnliche und mitreißende Performance.
